Sketches I created this week.

This is one of the sketches I created this week, and named simply "rocket". It's not a perfect sketch. but then of course, sketches are simply a prelude to a painting--a way of thinking through something I want to paint in oils on canvas as a time-consuming effort. Or think I want too. Sometimes after drawing the sketch and or painting it, I postpone indefinitely the painting into oils of it. Usually that means it has not yet congealed in my mind the angle I want to present, or the color scheme, or the "message" of the painting. So often sketches are relegated to forever be sketches only. But sometimes I use the sketch, to refer too to repaint it again in oils and modify it as I paint, or not. It's called "artistic license". The artist can adjust her painting or sketches any way she wants. So, here's rocket:

And this painting below is the first time I painted a shepherd in yr 1995 when I lived in Atlanta, GA. But I lived in Atlanta metro and city proper intermittently for a total of 13 yrs. It is not a real person but intended to be similar to a real shepherd who cares for the not smart sheep. You see the little grey lamb? It is acrylic paint on wood.

Also, have to tell that someone broke into the cell phone that I photograph with the most and altered the settings to distort the images of photographs to bizarre sizes, trying to make square those which are rectangles, etc. I tweeted about it and reported it to my carrier. They think they will force me to upgrade that handset, but they won't. I will not be coerced to change a phone I like simply because carrier wants more money from me. I'm not a use and toss person.
