Series oil paintings painted by Gloria Poole,RN, artist in Missouri with most recent 24 April 2015;Update

Oil painting painted by me [Ms] Gloria Poole,R.N. , artist of Missouri and Georgia that was completed this morning 24 April 2015. This is 7th oil painting I have painted over time of a baby. Scroll to see some of the others. And you can see the other one not posted here today on another blog of mine at https://real-women-have-babies.blogspot.com. I named this "WHAT was that?" of a tiny baby startled by fireworks. Obviously there is much room for improvement of my skills in painting babies so i will keep trying as I also paint, draw and sketch other subjects as well.

I painted this in oils on canvas and named it baby on daddy's arm.

I painted this and named it mother and newborn, except that if you know anything at all about newborns you know they are not the size of toddlers as I painted this image! So, I keep trying to get good at painting human babies. They are harder to paint for these reasons: their heads are out-of-proportion to the rest of them; their skin is almost transparent in places; they make funny expressions as they learn to control their eyes and mouths and fingers; and have tiny fingers and toes. This was supposed to be a mother still at the birthing place wearing hospital gown holding her newborn.

I painted this of a professional midwife delivering a baby in the home of the mother, and holding up this just born newborn still attached to the umbilical cord and still bluish looking from being pushed through birth canal by the mother. It is oil on canvas and is larger than these other paintings. I have all of these paintings in my apt in Missouri.

This is the oil painting I painted when I lived in Aurora Colorado for one year as as a wife, but that was a disastrous to me marriage and it ended after 4 yrs [thank GOD!] and I have written much about that since there was never any meaningful punishment to my then-husband for trying to kill me several times and for causing me much physical harm including a broken leg that needed surgery to repair with metal implanted. So, as a way of warning other women to be on guard, I post info if it is part of the story. I painted this oil painting while I was healing from orthopedic surgery to repair a fractured in several places with bone fragments injury caused by then-husband [initials DBP]. He moved out of that apt when I posted the Ten Commandments which was a full year after a Magistrate told him to move out and stay away from me and put a restraining order against him but the-husband came back to that Aurora apt to try one more time to kill me [he said] and I was injured badly. Months into the healing process with a walking boot on my leg, I sat at my then kitchen table and painted this oil painting. It is not perfect by any means. It was merely a way of not going out-of-my-mind from anguish, pain, suffering, hunger [then-husband took phone, car, money and food when he left to file for divorce because [he said] I would not ask Magistrate to lift restraining order.] I remember painting this very well. I felt at the time it was not a good painting at all--baby too huge, wrong proportions, at wrong angle for a real birth [not the birth position] but I just couldn't seem to make it better. So it is a part of my artist history and I am including it here. I named it "birthing a baby" .

This is the oil painting I painted in 2004 of my grandson Samuel from a photo his mama [my daughter Jennifer] sent to me.

This is my GBH College of Nursing seal where I attended and graduated as a professional nurse and then became licensed by the state of Georgia years ago. I still have a R.N. license but I cannot work in it because of concussions and trauma to me so I post info to try help public on the web on the #prolife, #personhood #publichealth causes.

This is the UGA display I made by using appliques I cut from the UGA book /news they mailed to me as an alum, to remind all I also have a degree in business from the University of Georgia .

This is my signature as I signed it on an oil painting & it is posted on several blogs of mine to identity them as mine, including this one and also https://sites.google.com/site/gloriapoole.

This is my left hand on the blooming tree on the lawn here at my apt in Missouri. I photographed this and was trying to get a close-up of the tiny pink blooms and the wind was blowing a bit so I tried to steady the branch with my hand.

This is my photo of U S flag I photographed on walkabout a few days ago to remind all I am U S citizen in the U S state of Missouri but I was born in the state of Georgia. I have all Constitutional protections including the first amendment.

This is one of my Christian crosses on my wall in Missouri to remind all who enter that I am Christian.

This is my copyright notice for cameras of mine. The gloria08 should be gloria0817 but the far edge was not in photo. But that is a way I have signed my name on the web at times since 2003. It was sort of a pseudonym since my then-husband was trying to prevent me from existing at all. I am divorced from him [ male DBP] after 4 awful years of marriage to him and divorce was final Oct 2007.
