Modern art and I voted in Missouri by Gloria Poole / gloriapoole ;Update

.This is my sketch I, Gloria Poole, created yesterday but uploaded today 4th November 2014. I was experimenting with a new form of creating art by changing my usual background to a collage. Then I cut 2 appliques [the vase and the star fish ] from a patterned paper because I read that a famous artist also made appliques at times to vary his art. Then I repainted portions of the collage background and the appliques so it appealed to me. Then I signed it. I painted on the spout from the "vase" and painted in more teal and hot pink to the collage. So, it's the first of its kind since I never made art using an applique before or on a collage background before. I have drawn and painted what I call abstracts a few times when I drew all at once the background consisting of a motley assortment of items but this time, I built up the sketch in layers, starting with the printed collage, then the applique applied, then the paint. You can see an example of my "abstract" or surreal art I created in the next photo.
