This sketch that I drew with a totally different idea in mind when I started it, sort of morphed as I went along. It is acrylic on paper 9 x 12 inches in size and it is not a perfect sketch. It's just a sketch that combines two ideas into one, sort of. I named this sketch "love before food" and tried to paint an image of a couple so in love that they forgot to order food. I did not have a particular person in mind for either the man or woman in this sketch. But I admit I was probably influenced by my youngest daughter Leigh telling me her friend for years is getting engaged to marry. The images in this sketch are not of her [that friend of my daughter} nor of her fiance, since I never met him. I was simply trying to draw a sketch about romantic love between a man and a woman.
This sketch is one that also sort of morphed. I began with the idea of a lovely urban garden park-like setting, but then decided to make it rural pond with ducks and a rough cabin included, for "roughing it" away from the madding crowd. I named this sketch "pond cabin" and it is acrylic on 9x12 paper also. It was a very quick --about 30 minutes of time sketch from drawing to painting and it will be improved in a do-over.
