I drew this sketch on 6 x8 inch watercolor paper, trying to replicate the cone-flowers that are native to Missouri. Except I think they grow with maroon or pink petals, so I used what is called "artistic license" to create them the way I like them. They are growing tall like skyscrapers as the sun is rising up. I painted it with watercolor pan paints and a brush and I signed it also. I used white acrylic to make the sun rays stand out more. That is my left had holding down the left edge of the paper. I did not draw this sketch first. I just picked up a paint brush poured some acrylic paints on my palette and painted it onto 8 x 11 paper, two nights ago, when I couldn't sleep. I signed it , photographed this sketch and the one above, uploaded both today 29th Feb and posted them to this blog of mine, which is only one of my blogs that I add art I make too. This is the display I made of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business where I got a second education and graduated with a business degree.
This is my selfie [Gloria Poole,RN, artist] in spring 2014 but I look the same except that I am thinner and my hair is longer but I still put it in lop-sided pony tail when I walk about or create art to prevent hair from blowing into my eyes or into paint.That is also me that you see in the "about me" box on right side of this blog and I am wearing a dark grey winter wool hat because that photo was taken of me in state of Georgia in Jan 2010 and my family in Georgia saw me wearing that hat and so did other people. So I am leaving that photo also on this blog for that reason.
