This first sketch is an attempt of mine to see if I could draw an elongated human form as Modigliani did. And at the same time, draw into it a ballet dancer's arm movements and graceful form. I drew this in graphite, "painted" it with watercolor pencils with a water wash over it on 2 Sept 2014. I might do-over with acrylic paints. I also photographed it and uploaded it as I always do on all blogs of mine. The person in this sketch is not an actual person but one I created with pencils.
This second sketch is the acrylic painted version of the graphite pencil drawing that was intended to look like an actual person [French Pres Francois Hollande]. However, I did not "capture" his image very well with pencils and free-hand drawing. It's a do-over for certain. The pencil [graphite] drawing that I drew while looking at his photo in the BBC news is the third photo in this post, so scroll to see it. The green vine over his shoulder was in the photo but not as it appears on sketch. He was visiting the island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean and was in the BBC news.
This is the pencil drawing that I began with in my effort to start again drawing and painting some of the heads of state around the world. Read my comments on photo 2 for more info.

Reminder that I am not on Facebook nor Pinterest and never was. Also, because I refused to give tumblr my copyrights, I told them to delete all my content on my https://gloriapoole.tumblr.com blog because I own the copyright to original art I created and I put art I created on that blog; and only I put content on that blog. I am not sure what tumblr was trying to do but I did not agree to their new terms and conditions giving them the copyrights. I tweeted about that yesterday on my twitter acount @gloriapoole so all should know of that. I do not consent for tumblr [or anybody] to make 'derivatives" from my art I create, nor to "share" it with unknown persons to allow them to access my accounts or art I create to use as their own. I also do not consent for tumblr to make art I create as 'stock photos" or in any way to allow other bloggers of tumblr to use photos of art I create. That tumblr blog is still up as of yesterday. I am not adding to it for months now since they tried force me to give them my copyrights. I refused to agree to their new terms and conditions because I have the actual, tangible art that I photographed and posted to that tumblr blog. FYI.
